We have the answers to your questions
Plant-based waxes are great - But why?
Unlike traditional paraffin candles, which are derived from petroleum, plant-based waxes offer a natural, non-toxic foundation that enhances both your environment and your wellbeing.
Here are some reasons why to choose plant-based wax candles:
- Clean burn for your well-being: When burned, plant-based waxes emit fewer toxins and produce less soot, making them safer for indoor use.
- Renewability: Unlike fossil-based waxes such as Paraffin, plant-based waxes come from renewable resources that can be cultivated year after year.
- Extended burn time: Due to its slower burn rate, plant-based candles typically last longer than those made from paraffin.
- Superior scent throw: Plant-based waxes hold and release fragrance beautifully. These waxes allow for a balanced and consistent scent throw, making your space feel warm, calm, and inviting.
- Cruelty-free & vegan: Our selected plant-based waxes are 100% vegan and never tested on animals. Choosing these candles supports a more ethical approach to home fragrance.
How do I get the most out of my candle?
To enjoy a clean, long-lasting, and beautifully fragrant burn, follow these simple tips:
- Trim the wick before each burn
Trim the wick about 4mm. A trimmed wick helps the candle burn evenly, prevents soot, and avoids an overly large flame. - Let the wax melt edge to edge
During the first burn—and any burn—allow the wax pool to reach the sides of the container. This prevents “tunneling,” where wax remains on the sides and reduces your candle’s lifespan. - Burn for the right amount of time
Aim for 2–4 hours per session. Short burns can lead to tunneling; excessively long burns can cause the wick to mushroom or the container to overheat. - Keep the candle away from drafts
Fans, open windows, and air vents can cause uneven burning, flickering flames, and soot buildup. - Store your candle properly
Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain fragrance quality and prevent discoloration.
Following these steps ensures you get a longer burn time, a cleaner flame, and the best experience from your candle. Enjoy!
How do I prevent my candle from "tunneling"?
Tunneling occurs when the candle burns only in the center, leaving unmelted wax along the edges. To prevent this, let your candle burn long enough each time you light it for the entire top layer of wax to melt evenly—usually 2 to 4 hours, depending on the candle size.
Also trim the wick to about 4 mm before each burn. This helps the flame burn evenly and reduces soot. Avoid burning your candle in drafty areas as uneven air flow can also cause tunneling.
Are scented candles safe to burn?
Generally, yes—when used as directed. Our scented candles are carefully crafted without phthalates or CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, or Reprotoxic substances), so you can enjoy their fragrance without worrying about harmful chemicals. If you are sensitive to fragrance or smoke, ensure good ventilation or choose unscented candles, and consider testing in a small space first. Overall, our candles provide a safe and pleasant aroma for your home.
Why is there a safety label on my candle?
Our safety labels includes all the essential instructions for burning your candle correctly—such as keeping it away from flammable objects, trimming the wick regularly, and never leaving a burning candle unattended. These guidelines are there to protect you and your home.
For all scented candles, it is legally required to follow the CLP regulations (Classification, Labelling and Packaging). We label our candles accordingly—just as you’re used to seeing on everyday products like soaps or perfumes.
You may have noticed the symbol with the “dead fish and tree” on some of our labels. Although it might look concerning at first glance, it does not mean that the candle itself is harmful or dangerous. This symbol refers solely to the concentrated fragrance oils in their raw, undiluted form, which can be harmful to aquatic organisms if released directly into waterways. In a finished candle and during normal use, there is no risk to the environment.
We choose to share this information openly because transparency is important to us. Our goal is to give you clear and honest insights into our candle, along with safe usage instructions—so you can relax and enjoy every moment without worry.
Do you offer personalised candles?
Yes! If you’re looking for something special—a unique fragrance, a personalized label, or a custom design for a gift or a special occasion—we’d be delighted to hear from you. Since we are a small business and every candle is hand-poured, creating custom orders may take a little longer. Share your idea with us, and we’ll let you know what’s possible and how long it will roughly take. We look forward to making your candle as personal as your moment.
